Quarterly Event - February 17

Focus Arts & Entertainment.  TL working with Tower Press.  Too pricey - look for other venues with at least 50 people capacity.  Follow up with following - we should focus on downtown/midtown for the first year of events:

  1. Gems Department Store - Colonial Arcade
  2. Constantino's Market - West 6th St.
  3. Tyler Elevator Bldg.
  4. Rock Hall (Christine contact)
  5. Galleria

What do you envision for WEN in 2, 4, 5 years out?  What is this network?   Potluck is for the group - building relationships.  

Who is watching this  anyway?  Unknown audience; leap of faith; June tour post - RSVP Oct. - focus on quality; wnat to know you make impact.  I enjoy conversations but ...........

Diversity Center:  Bonnie in 2009 class.  Giveback requirements.  Peggy Fisher, Executive Director - 9 month pgm.

 

November 8 Live Show (will be there in December as well)

Topic:  Post election - what it means for the future.  Room setup - people in front of the table in a semi-circle - not behind the conversation circle and inclusive of staff.  Invite 5 WEN members to sttend - customize your email:

  • know you work with older people - how important intergenerational learning is in your life
  • concerned about future of US
  • want you to meet our wonderful network
  • hosting monthly live tv show
  • connecting and attracting with national leaders
  • Judson Park is our partner for live tv show


Ms. United States 2008 - Graziella Baratta

Betsey will go back to Graziella for tech logistics for her to join our live show conversation via live stream, her topic choices and her availability.  Perhaps piggyback cross broadcast with our show and hers.

 

Strategic Plan for Building the Network

At our original core meeting, we all decided that we wanted to make an impact.  Bringing advocacy to our network.   Encourage them to join.  Commit to cast up to 5 people per week. Example copy.

  • we know what you are doing" and that we would like you to be a part of our group
  • build relationships
  • are you making an impact?  we learn from others & take that back/share with others
  • impact when we use internet tv, etc
